Smart Contract Farming

From reduced transaction costs to improved price risk management, from fair farmers’ incomes to sustainable supplies with reduced post harvest losses, our work brings positive change to our partners.

Contract farming combined with our advisory support and assistance for farmers increases food safety by strengthening quality control and ensuring end-to-end traceability in the food chain. Smart Contract Farming allows to negotiate fair and sustainable farming contracts in terms of price, supply quotas, characteristics and standards, embedded services and payment terms.

We have more than 400 hectares to be contracted in the Euro-Mediterranean Area. To optimise commercial and trade aspects of the supply chain and their traceability, we partner with locally-based processing plants for first transfromation step in the Mediterranean area.

We. spend thousands of hours in research and development every year to bring new products and solutions to market.

We work together with academic institutions and research centers to build open innovation partnerships. We apply our expertise to serve businesses in the agricultural and food value chains.

Horticultural value chain

An advantage lies in sourcing horticultural production directly from farmers and under contractual agreements, both in greenhouse and open field cultivation. Cultivar, selected farming practises, certification requirements and postharvest handling can be established ahead.

All horticultural crops are fully certified as well as grown according to international standards. Our traceability protocol will provide full data transparency on each step of the production chain.

Arable crop value chain

Our contract farming schemes usually start in the autumn, before crops are sown. Our farmers and agricultural cooperatives focus on grain crops, legumes, oil seeds, fiber and tuber crops.

Advisory support and assistance for farmers increases food safety and environmental performance by strengthening quality control and ensuring end-to-end traceability in the food chain.

Livestock value chain

Livestock production is a key driver of environmental change. It has led to several environmental problems that are a major threat for food security, environmental quality and GHG emissions. Different forms of livestock production have, however, different impacts on natural resources.

Supply‐demand interactions are a key factor for finding effective and efficient solutions to these global challenges. At Agrenta, we can develop fully controlled supply chains, built at the highest international standards for sustainability and animal welfare. Our traceability protocol will provide full data transparency on each step of the livestock production chain.
